If you liked Guardians of the Galaxy (i.e. if you draw breath and have a pulse), you’ll be happy to learn who’s working on another cosmic Marvel hero, Captain Marvel, in today’s Movie Morsels. We’ve also got the latest on Wonder Woman, Zoolander 2, and Steven Spielberg’s next fantasy film The BFG. Plus, we’ve assembled even more new clips from Avengers: Age of Ultron for you!

Captain Marvel

Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman and Inside Out co-writer Meg LeFauve are in discussions to collaborate on script for Captain Marvel. Kevin Feige apparently liked both their takes on the project and rather than have them develop separate scripts and later stitch them together, he’s invited them to partner on Marvel Studios’ first female-centric film. Kudos to Feige for seeking out women to tell the tale of heroine.

Sigh. Director Michelle MacLaren, who would have been the first female director to helm a movie in either the DC or Marvel Cinematic Universes, will no longer direct Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman. “Given creative differences,” says the studio, “Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together.” Jason Fuchs is still scripting the Gal Gadot-starring film… As for the role of male lead Steve Trevor, it’s reportedly not gone to Scott Eastwood, who was rumored to be playing the character in Suicide Squad. Four other actor have been invited to test for it.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Okay, y’all saw the ninety-second clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron that unspooled during Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards, right? Because Marvel’s just dropped two additional clips from the film online! Yeah, surprise is so overrated, isn’t it? Here are all three clips for your viewing enjoyment. Joss Whedon’s superhero-a-rama — starring every actor in the known universe — rumbles into town on May 1st.

Zoolander 2

Son of a Zoolander! Ben Stiller has just offered us our first look at Derek Zoolander’s offspring, played by actor Cyrus Arnold, via Instagram. Stiller will direct the lad in Zoolander 2 — co-starring his wife Christine Taylor, Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, and most likely Will Ferrell — and co-write the film with Justin Theroux. Zoolander 2 opens on February 12, 2016.

The BFG

Steven Spielberg

Steven Spielberg has acquired a new partner in adapting Roald Dahl’s The BFG (a.k.a. The Big Friendly Giant) — Walt Disney Studios. “In more than 40 years of making movies,” the filmmaker announced, “I have been on the producing end of a number of films for The Walt Disney Company, but never as a director. It is a special joy to be in the director’s chair as we start The BFG, alongside my long-time friends and film collaborators Kathy Kennedy, who introduced me to this project, Frank Marshall and Melissa Mathison. Together with them and Disney, there are many reasons why I am so excited about this joint venture.” The latest additions to the cast have also been announced. Joining Mark Rylance as the eponymous giant and Ruby Barnhill as Sophie, the little girl he befriends will be Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, Michael David Adamthwaite, Daniel Bacon, Chris Gibbs, Adam Godley, Jonathan Holmes, Paul Moniz de Sa, and Olafur Olaffson. All of them will be playing giants. While Penelope Wilton will play the Queen and Iron Man 3‘s Rebecca Hall her maid Mary.
