Monty Python Live Reunion to Be Bigger, Ruder, and Better Than Ever

The 10 dates at London’s O2 Arena for the live reunion of legendary comedy troupe Monty Python have been sold out for quite some time now. Americans who can’t be in attendance will likely be flocking to theaters to see a broadcast of Monty Python Live (Mostly). Now John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, and Terry Gilliam just have to get ready and do the shows.

Carol Cleveland, who is sometimes known as the “Seventh Python” for her numerous appearances on Monty Python’s Flying Circus, chatted with Radio Times and revealed some details on the big show. “On top of seeing their comedy heroes, fans are going to be seeing a much bigger show, a much more exciting show,” Cleveland shared. “It’s a little bit ruder than it has been in the past.”

With their signature animated sketches, costume changes, and a large ensemble dance group, it sounds like the production will not disappoint. Cleveland commented, “I think I spend more time changing my costume than being on stage.”

When news first broke of Monty Python doing a live reunion, they revealed in a press conference that they would indeed be performing some of their classic sketches live. Cleveland says that among those classics to be performed are The Parrot Sketch, The Argument Sketch, “Christmas in Heaven,” and the Lumberjack song.

What else would you like to see Monty Python pull off for these potentially final performances as a group? Would you want to see a Trojan Rabbit as well? Something else? Let us know in the comments below.
