MONSTER HUNTER-ish FREEDOM WARS Headed to the Vita in the U.S.

Like some kind of Monster Hunter set in a grim, post-apocalyptic future, Freedom Wars is coming to the Vita in the U.S. sometime later this year, according to publisher Sony.

Co-developed by jack-of-all trades studio Dimps (they supported Capcom in Street Fighter IV development and Sega with Sonic the Hedgehog 4), Shift, and SCEA Japan, Freedom Wars is an 8-player action game putting you in the role of a, let’s say, “hunter of monsters,” who must earn his or her freedom from a one million year sentence by taking down the beasts that plague the polluted wasteland that is Earth in the distant future.

Sony hasn’t provided a release date – simply a target of sometime later this year.

What do you think? Will you be picking it up?
