This Twitch MISTER ROGERS Marathon Will Give You All The Feels

Many of us grew up watching Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. The show was so lovely and filled with imagination, and Mister Rogers himself was a sort of mentor to children across the globe, teaching them to be kind and care for others. While most of us didn’t realize the profound impact his show had on us when we were children, as adults a lot of us have found ourselves cherishing the memories and lessons we learned from being Mister Roger’s neighbor.

By now you’ve probably read the heartfelt account of Entertainment Weekly reporter Anthony Breznican meeting Mister Rogers as an adult, and it’s likely inspired you to share your own memories of hanging out in Mister Rogers’ neighborhood. Well, you’re in luck, because Twitch is in the middle of a Mister Rogers Neighborhood marathon, but this isn’t your average binge session. In addition to raising money for US public television, Twitch is letting adult fans of the show call in and share how the show or Mister Rogers himself made an impact on their lives. As Polygon reports, they’ve received about 300 voicemails and have released 19 of the calls.

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood is a classic show from public television, and alongside of shows like Sesame Street is what many adults often point to when they discuss how important public broadcasting is for kids. Plus, there’s no better place to escape from all of the tragedies and stresses surrounding us than returning to a world of friendly, cardigan-clad neighbors, right? The voicemails that have been released so far are incredibly touching, and show how important Mister Rogers was for generations of kids.
