Miniature Groot Bread Packs a Big Punch of Adorableness

Anything tiny is cute. I’ll defend this theory by pointing out that in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Baby Groot severed a Ravager’s toe and the audience still sighed at his lovable little face despite this vicious act. He’s just so darn adorable.

In keeping with the small equals cute ideology, Oh My Disney offers up a DIY video for making your own miniaturized version of Groot Bread. The edible tree treat was first introduced during this year’s Summer of Heroes event at Disney California Adventure. Fans lined up to grab a loaf shaped into the Guardians’ own monosyllabic sapling.

In the video, yeast and water are mixed to create a risen dough that is then rolled out, the same exact steps you’d take for a regular bread dough except on a much, much smaller scale.

The dough is then cut and shaped into Groot’s familiar face, with tiny chopped olives serving as the eyes—again keeping with the life-size counterpart’s ingredients. After being baked in a dollhouse sized oven, a tasty Groot appears, warm, happy, and ready to be eaten.

Obviously this is a lot of work for something that’s the size of a quarter, but the thrill of tiny cuteness still wins. You’ll only need about 100 more of these to make a complete meal.

We can only hope that the corresponding recipe to this video will read, “I am Groot” over and over again.
