What if I told you that sweet breakfast cereal as you know it could be changed forever. That thereâs something so good, that you might just turn your nose up at Cookie Crisp, the pinnacle of sugar-filled morning meals. Blasphemy? Maybe.
Pop Tarts are the definitive breakfast on the go for sweet tooths, but why eat one big Pop Tart you could eat a bunch of little ones, in a bowl, with milk, like a cereal. Basically, the best idea ever. In other words, why eat a normal breakfast when you can eat a super complicated one instead?
On the blog Public Lives, Secret Recipes, food blogger Caitlin created tiny little Pop Tarts with dough from scratch, making them about the about the size of a serving spoon. Weâre talking a breakfast sized as if you were feeding The Littles. Smurfs would be all, nope, too small. You get the picture.
The dough is rolled out and then the miniature tarts are filled with any one of the following options: nutella, peanut butter, jelly, raspberry jam or blueberry jam. After theyâre baked, the little pastries are topped with a precious pink sugar glaze and dusted with tiny sprinkles.
The tiniest of tarts are then tossed into a bowl of milk and just like that behold, ultimate homemade breakfast cereal. Sure it took you two hours to make and youâre most likely exasperated to no end, but letâs be clear: Mini. Pop Tarts. Cereal. Totally worth it.
