Huh?! What’s that noise?! That, my friends, is the sound of the immense hype building for the next details on Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. Kojima Productions announced this morning that they’re going to be shedding more light on the game in less than 48 hours. The Kojima Productions Twitter account dropped the hint this morning, showing us a screenshot of the countdown timer that is currently ticking on their website:

As you can imagine, around the time of this tweet is approximately when my twitter timeline blew up with the excited tweets of Metal Gear Solid diehards. Kojima Productions is one of the few studios that can get away with stacking anticipation off of making an announcement of an announcement.

So, now there’s the question of what exactly Kojima and co. are getting ready to reveal. Instincts are leading many to believe that this is a release date announcement for certain, but when dealing with one of the all-time greatest innovators–who just so happens to be one of the all-time greatest trolls–you can never know for sure what to expect when announcement teasers of this nature surface from the Kojima camp.
