Here’s How Melissa Joan Hart Directed Anjelica Huston in THE WATCHER IN THE WOODS

Few things cover more of the Venn Diagram of our childhood obsessions than the following things: Melissa Joan Hart, Anjelica Huston, and The Watcher in the Woods. The Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Clarissa Explains It All star has a long history of working behind-the-scenes, but it’s her second feature length directorial effort—a remake of the classic aforementioned ’80s film, starring the aforementioned witchy goddess, Huston—that has us more excited than anything.

So naturally, when we had the opportunity to sit down and chat with Hart about the film, directing, and working Anjelica Huston, we took it. And even with such a stupendous lack of chill over sitting next to one of our heroes, we managed to actually get into a discussion about how beloved, exciting, and instrumental those scary childhood Disney films were.

And I mean: c’mon—geeking out with Sabrina the Teenage Witch about the Grand High Witch?! There is literally nothing better, as far as we’re concerned, and our former (current?) witchy selves were positively giddy at the opportunity.

Hart’s adaptation of The Watcher in the Woods hits Lifetime on October 21st at  8pm (EST/PST), starring Huston, Nicholas Galitzine, and Tallulah Evans. Are you going to tune in? Let us know in the comments below—but not before you check out the trailer!
