Sideshow’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Orko Statue Might Cast a Spell on You

If you’ve never loved Orko from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, there are plenty of good reasons for that. In the first He-Man animated series, Orko was the comic relief, but he wasn’t really that funny. Orko claimed he was a powerful sorcerer on Trolla, but on Eternia, his magic backfired so often that he was more of a nuisance than a worthy ally. However, Sideshow Collectibles and Tweeterhead Studios are giving Orko an image makeover with his upcoming statue. And for the first time ever, we can almost believe that Orko really could stand side-by-side with the Masters of the Universe.

This 14.5 inch tall resin statue is a stunning reinterpretation of Orko that includes the intricate details on his red robes, magic pouches, rings, armor, scarf, and his signature wizard’s hat. This is a look worthy of “Orko the Great,” although we suspect the magic wand may have helped Orko achieve this newfound level of power.

Sideshow has previously released a He-Man statue, and they placed it side-by-side with the Orko prototype to better illustrate the scale.

Additionally, there is going to be a deluxe edition of the Orko statue that includes an interchangeable arm with an impressive looking book of spells. If you click on the pic below, you can actually see He-Man’s power sword in the pages of the spell book.

The standard Orko statue is currently available for pre-order at Sideshow’s official site for $265, and it’s expected to ship between June and August of this year. You can see more pics of the Orko statue below.
