In the Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, some of the most powerful energy sources in existence are known as Soul Gems Infinity Gems. When used in concert, the Soul, Time, Space, Mind, Reality, and Power gems grant the wielder near omniscience and omnipotence. This is what Thanos the Mad Titan has in mind, and he plans to unite them in a rather gaudy golden gauntlet that reeks of trying too hard to be fashionable. (Though gold is a complementary color for Thanos’ purple skin.) Redditor JarvisLatteier had a different sort of style in mind when he crafted these epic glow-in-the-dark rings inspired by Marvel’s Infinity Gauntlet.

For one thing, these rings are much more practical than a heavy metal gauntlet, and much less likely to be confiscated by a galactic security force while traveling through space. Additionally, Jarvis’ “The Rings of the Gauntlet of Power” collection is just pure geeky awesomeness. Some of the rings include symbols for both Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D., while others are inspired by Asgardian mythology, Vision, and Black Widow. The really cool thing, as pertains to science, is that Jarvis used a 3D printer to craft the models of these rings before casting them in steel and silver. Oh, and did we mention that they glow in the dark in different colors thanks to the radioactive isotope tritium?

Don’t worry, the beta particles that tritium emits cannot penetrate the skin. There are some hazards related to ingestion, inhalation, and absorption into the body, but the hydrogen isotope’s relatively short biological half-life reduces effects from one-time exposure and long-term bioaccumulation. Plus the gas is contained in small quantities in sealed vials. These tubes have differing phosphor materials inside them that generate different colors of fluorescent light when the tritium’s beta particles interact with it. Also, tritium occurs naturally when cosmic rays interact with atmospheric gases, like nitrogen. So you could say that Jarvis’ rings are actually cosmically powered after all!
