Marvel Unveils Its CIVIL WAR II Tie-Ins

This weekend at C2E2 in Chicago, Marvel laid out its plans for the first few months of Civil War II. While the Spider-Man and X-Men tie-in miniseries had already been announced, that’s just a taste of what’s to come in Civil War II.

At least two more Civil War II miniseries are on the way. The first is Civil War II: Choosing Sides, a six-issue anthology miniseries starting in June, that will feature Nick Fury, Jr., Damage Control, Night Thrasher, Power Pack, Jessica Jones, and other characters against the backdrop of the larger superhero conflict. Each issue will also feature stories by different creators, including Declan Shalvey, Brandon Easton, Chad Bowers & Chris Sims, Goran Sudzuka, and Leonardo Romero.

The second miniseries is Civil War II: Gods of War, which is also coming in June. This will essentially replace the Hercules series for the duration of the Civil War II event. Hercules writer Dan Abnett is writing Gods of War with Emilio Laiso attached as the artist. The miniseries will follow Hercules and an “Expendables-like team of ancient heroes” including Gilgamesh, Ire, Sigurd, Lorelei, Theseus, and Beowulf as they tackle a threat while the modern heroes wage war on each other.

But Marvel isn’t just adding miniseries to the mix. Several ongoing titles will also be drawn into Civil War II. Marvel has released the Civil War II tie-in covers for 10 ongoing series, including Ultimates, Ms. Marvel, Uncanny Inhumans, All-New Wolverine, and Totally Awesome Hulk.
