Well, today certainly seems like a Marvel kind of day, doesnât it? As it turns out, the official conclusion of principle photography on Daredevil, and a new gallery of Agent Carter photos arenât the only gems to come out of the Marvel Television camp today as the company has officially confirmed something major.
As of this afternoon, Marvel has officially declared Good Wife star Mike Colter to be cast in the role of Luke Cage for the upcoming Netflix based âDefenders Saga,â and will make his debut in the upcoming A.K.A. Jessica Jones starring Krysten Ritter before eventually spinning off into his own series.
Said the company, âduring the course of an investigation in New York City, private investigator Jessica Jones encounters the enigmatic Luke Cage–a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined.â
Over the years, Luke Cage has come to embody a lot of what fans want out of the Marvel Cinamtic Universe: strong, diverse characters of all races, genders and, in some cases, species. In fact, thereâs a case to be made that Cage is, perhaps, the one character folks have been begging Marvel for more than any other since the debut of Iron Man in 2008, second only to, maybe, Captain Marvel. Well Marvel fans, today is your day to celebrate because Luke Cage finally has a live-action face,
What do you think of the choice of Mike Colter for Luke Cage? Let us know in the comments below.
The correct answer is: TERRY CREWS. I mean that dude IS Luke Cage. This guy is all well and good (I liked him in the otherwise lackluster Halo: Nightfall), but yeah. He’s not Terry Crews, thus it isn’t correct.
Love Terry Crews, but he brings Terry Crews luggage with him at this point. Colter’s a good choice. He’s got the presence for it and the acting chops.
