Marvel Confirms Release Dates Through 2019

If there’s one thing we know about Marvel, it’s they love them some cryptic announcements right before Comic-Con. As of yesterday, the company has confirmed they now have films scheduled through 2019 with the following release dates locked in: July 28 and November 3, 2017; July 6 and November 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019. We have to imagine what we’re looking at here, especially given there only being a solo May film in 2019, are the release dates for the remainder of the company’s phase three films, with the May 2019 film being Avengers 3 (which has some cast [mainly Downey Jr.] already locked in to appear). That would be our best guess.

As for what the other films are, who knows? There’s been a lot of speculation that there might be a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in there, maybe something for Black Panther and probably Thor 3, but the truth is, until Marvel unveils the titles (which they could very likely do at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con), all we can do is speculate. The only Phase 3 films we know about for sure that have release dates are Ant-Man and Captain America 3. That’s it. To speculate beyond that point at this stage of the game would just be wishful thinking.

But, one thing we personally would love to see is Marvel take on some non-phase films. Films that don’t tie into an Avengers movie, but that are still cool. Like, say, a Black Widow movie. That would be cool as hell.

What are your predictions for Marvel’s new release dates? Which movies/characters would you like to see take to the big screen? Let us know in the comments below.

Deadpool!  I’ve been waiting for a deadpool movie since 1997.  Make it R.  Make it good.  Like Blade!

  10. Brian says:

A SHIELD origin movie giving us a backstory on Hawkeye, Black Widow and Nick Fury.

  11. Josh says:

Why would Avengers 3 be the May 2019 film? The first Avengers was summer of 2012, Age of Ultron will be Summer 2015… doesn’t it stand to reason Avengers 3 will be the summer 2018 film? 3 years per film.

I would really like to see a female led Marvel film such as Ms. Marvel, Valkyrie or Spider woman. If Disney can do it, why can’t Marvel?

  14. Scott says:

Personally, I keep hoping for a “Runaways” movie. It could stand alone from the rest of the Marvel stuff.

  15. Is that including the premier of “Big Hero Six”?

  16. Danica says:

All I want in life is a Ms. Marvel movie.

  17. Carl Laird says:

  19. TJ Heesch says:

i would be interested in seeing what they can do for a NAMOR film…pretty sure it wouldn’t be live-action…maybe something along the lines of a CGI-centric film like “Big Hero 6”, especially if you’re going to include characters like Orka and Attuma…and, you what…if they did it that way, i wouldn’t complain one bit…

  20. barb says:

    Loki!

  21. Tiffany says:

Wouldn’t a Black Widow movie technically be a phase movie?  She does tie-in to The Avengers, Iron Man, and Captain America.  I am hoping for the rumored stand alone Black Widow film.
