MARVEL And STAR WARS: An Epic Twitter Squabble

When Daddy Disney’s asleep, the kids come out and tweet. An epic twitter back and forth ensued between the official twitter accounts for Star Wars and Marvel Entertainment. It was quite a star-studded event, and it even brought about tweets from a few celebrities like:

Peter Mayhew…

…Deadpool…

…and Harry Knowles

But the main event was something to be remembered and definitely made twitter a digital madhouse for the time it took place. Feast your eyes on the most riveting exhibit of 140-character trash talking. Ring the bell and lets get it on!

You have to admit, this friendly little squabble pretty much validated everyone’s reason for making a Twitter account in the first place. My favorite bit was the trade proposal from Star Wars, giving up Mace Windu for Nick Fury. Hilarious! Who do you think won the Twitter battle between the two? Let us know in the comments.

I have to give the win to Star Wars, as the scruffy looking nerf herder was Han Solo, not Chewbacca. But Star Wars didn’t catch it, and gave Han’s reply, so…

    Epic…

  3. T_ says:

Marvel won but I was rooting for Star Wars.

When you pull out the HULK SMASH card, you always win!!!

This is awesome. I wish more big brands would do some fun stuff like this. Big props whoever came up with the idea and green lit it. Too funny. Fantastic.

@Jetpack and @Sleepyhead… They are definitely run by different people, in different places, at their respective companies. Star Wars in SF and I think Marvel is in NYC.

    LOL! That was hysterical…
We laugh and joke around, but in all honesty next Year’s “Guardians of The Galaxy” and the eminent Episode #7 could easily lead into a Comic Crossover in a Galaxy Far Far Away… Who knows, maybe we’ll catch Boba-Fett cameo in a Planet Hulk movie? Or how’s about after Episode 9, the new Republic has to bust out the old Empire DeathStar plans and build one of their own to take on a Galactus…? I’m looking forward to 2025 …

  8. Sleepyhead says:

I imagine it’s two guys who work on the same floor of “Disney Social Media” somewhere. Still awesome, though.

  9. Cesar S says:

Hilarious, although the last tweet shoud have been… “The blue milk and the SHWARMAS are on us!”

  10. JetpackBlues says:

Why do I get the feeling it’s the same guy responding to both accounts?

  11. Joe says:

I witnessed this live last night. It was a sight to behold.

  12. Michele says:

Um, the World won this one. Epic!

  13. Jacob says:

DID THEY FORGET THE DEATH STAR?!

  14. Andy says:

It appears that @starwars forgot about the Emperor’s force storms.

  15. Michael says:

Marvel won definitely! I mean Star Wars backed down when the world eater was mentioned.

  16. ricky pech says:

    marvel all the way!!!

  17. B T says:

As much as I’d love to root for Star Wars, I’d rather have a mf’n Nick Fury than Mace “I got thrown out a” Windu…
