Marvel’s marketing team must be loving their job right now, thanks to Ant-Man. Whoever it was that suggested making all of their advertising for the film “ant-sized” is either a genius, or was scrambling for an idea and had it work in his or her favor like we’ve seen in so many workplace comedies. No matter how it came about, the minuscule advertising campaigns for Ant-Man have been capturing people’s attention around the world, and this new one is no different. Several places around Australia report having seen tiny billboards for the Paul Rudd superhero flick popping up in public places.

While the billboards seem to be exclusive to Australia at the moment, pictures were posted to Reddit earlier today to let the world know just how dedicated Marvel is to their miniaturized advertising gimmick for the film. Before the billboards, Marvel made several first look reveals for the film that were seemingly meant for only ants and Ant-Men alike. The first teaser trailer for the film, which aired during an episode of Agent Carter, and the first poster for the film both played on the tiny concept as well. If they try for too much more the idea may turn people off to the film before it even releases, but the billboards feel just fresh enough to elicit a chuckle and a smile. It is reported that they seem quite securely stuck in place, but some fans will no doubt find a way to stake their own claim to the small-scale signs.
What do you think of the tiny billboards? Is this advertising idea getting you interested, or do you think they are running the tiny thing into the ground already? Let us know in the comments below.
