Mark Zuckerberg Wants to Build a J.A.R.V.I.S. of His Own

New year, new you, new Mark Zuckerberg. Like many of us starting 2016 with a list of personal goals, the Facebook founder has a New Year’s resolution of his own: to build himself a robotic house-butler. Similar to Iron Man‘s J.A.R.V.I.S., the A.I. interface that Zuckerberg describes would recognize his voice; control music, lights, and temperature; act as a “guard dog” who recognizes the faces of friends to let them into the house; and use video monitoring to ostensibly babysit his daughter, Max. Though he intends to code the entire interface himself, Zuckerberg’s project is definitely of a personal nature and not related to official Facebook business of any kind. One could say the house-butler system is Zuck’s new hobby for 2016.

Did you resolve to pick up any new hobbies this year? Do they include creating artificial intelligence to guard your home or take care of your baby? Does anyone else think Zuckerberg got this idea after watching the new Black Mirror “White Christmas” special? Join Jessica Chobot as we discuss the social media founder’s new project and how it compares to in-home technology already on the market, on today’s Nerdist News.

Thanks for watching today’s show! In case you missed them over the holidays, check out our favorite The Force Awakens moments, our 2016 predictions, and the best of Jessica Chobot reel from Nerdist News.

Let us know in the comments below if you think Zuckerberg will be able to fulfill his resolution this year, and if you have a New Year’s resolution of your own!
