See Mark Hamill’s Medieval Jedi in Action in KNIGHTFALL Teaser

Update, 1/23/19:

History has released a teaser for the second season of its drama Knightfall, and it features Mark Hamill’s Talus. He’s rocking the medieval Luke Skywalker look, and he looks very intimidating. The season is set to debut in 2019.

Original post:

A battle-scarred veteran knight has been in exile for years. Eventually, he returns to the fray to train the next generation of warriors. Well, who else are you going to get for that role but Mark Hamill? On the History Channel‘s Knightfall, a drama series about the Knights Templar, the Last Jedi will become Talus, one of the last Crusaders (as in the actual Crusades, not the Indiana Jones version) in the just-greenlit second season. Talus is an initiates master who’s training knights and carries around the scars from being held as a prisoner of war for ten years during the crusade.

Tom Forbes and Genevieve Gaunt also join the cast as Prince Louis and Isabella, the children of King Philip. The latter, according to a History Channel press release, will be in the process of becoming history’s “She-Wolf of France” who would ultimately marry King Edward II of England and eventually lead an army to depose him. Knightfall “goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages who were entrusted with protecting Christianity’s most precious relics.”

Will audiences who wanted Luke Skywalker to be more of a man of action in his old and disgruntled age get their wish here? Perhaps. Talus’ exile, unlike Luke’s, was involuntary and involved prison. And he doesn’t sound reluctant to train anybody. If they throw in a scene of him milking anything, though, you’ll know there are in-jokes at play.

Are you excited for Mark Hamill to wield a non-laser sword? We hope to “see ya around” in the comments below so you can let us know!
