Ever since the official announcement came down the pipeline that Marc Webb would be continuing his stint in the directorâs chair of his Amazing Spider-Man saga with the third film, the biggest question surrounding his career has been whether he would direct the confirmed fourth entry in the series. Today, we have an answer.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, Webb confirmed he has no plans to continue directing after the conclusion of production on the third film. âIâd like to be involved as a consultant,â said the director when asked about his planned involvement in future films, âand Iâve already talked to these guys about it, but in terms of directing it, [the third film] will close out my tenure. Iâve had so much fun doing it, but after the third movie, itâll be the time to find something else.â
Webb killed it as director of the first film in the series back in 2012, and thus far, things are looking good for this follow-up, which is due to hit theaters May 2nd. That said, itâs understandable for him to want to move on after the third film, but the news of him wanting to stay on as a consultant is nice to hear. Maybe whomever is chosen to serve as his successor will learn some good lessons during pre-production.
I don’t know if I would get as abrasive about it, but Spider-Man 3 was not a good movie on any level. Even Toby’s acting was so poor in that movie. There were scenes that graphically were a complete joke I couldn’t believe the movie was put out like that. I could rant forever. I wont.
Well i guess if you a COMPLETE FUCKING RETARD Spiderman 3 was a pretty good movie
Meh.
Best films are still (OG) Spiderman 1 and 3. 2 sucks, as does Amazing Spiderman.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
