great interview. It’s interesting to hear how different people push themselves to reach their goals. I hope Felicia is on Supernatural again, I liked her character a lot 😀

  3. Jordan says:

Thank you so much for this podcast! It’s so heartening and helpful, and even just knowing that there are other people out there who have been through the same things I’ve been though and come out smelling like a rose is a huge relief! You two are adorable and fierce together, and I’m a big fan of your work.

  4. Riki,

Any chance you could detail exactly what podcast setup you use? I’m particularly interested in the interface you use between the computer and the microphone.

  5. Brian C says:

My Gosh, both ladies are so sweet in this episode… wicked good stuff!

  6. Thank you so much. This is so helpful and very interesting and applicable to non-actors. Grit, Goal-Setting, Working for yourself. Applies well to artists and will keep me painting and industrious for awhile. I really appreciate this.

  7. Great interview. As a human being attempting to move forward in my creative career, I appreciate the honest conversation about the difficulties, challenges and rewards of acting and writing and of making choices that are the best for you. Thank you.

  10. J Luchsinger says:

Thank goodness I have always known I wanted to be a teacher. Well, I did want to act initially, but my mom wasn’t willing to drive around to auditions, and kids who grew up in the industry in the 70s and made it big, didn’t turn out so well.I’m so delighted that I have a job I love to work hard at and enjoy so much. So now I get full creative freedom to decorate my classroom the way I want, I also get to do an after school drama club where I also have full-on creative freedom, and the kids are amazingly talented, full of energy and so awesome you just would not believe it. I am so lucky.

  11. Great and inspiring podcast. This is definitely an exciting time to be living in, and not just in terms of being able to create and release creative works on the internet. As an indie developer, this is also happening in the mobile and gaming platforms as well. It is awesome 🙂

  12. Danielle St. John says:

This was a fantastically informative and honest interview. I am looking to try my hand at a career as an actor, and it’s nice to know that it is possible to make a living, stressful though it may be. Guess I need to sharpen my auditioning skills. 🙂

  13. Ashley says:

    This interview was aweeeesome!

  14. Madeline says:

Felicia! I’m just as shameless as you! I self-promote my things all the time. My friends get so mad but hey, gotta do what you gotta do. This was a great interview and I love all your honesty. I’ll take your advice to heart and as an aspiring playwright/tv writer I would love if I could get 5 people to watch my stuff. xD

  15. Allie says:

Awesome interview! I have been a huge fan of Felicia Day since I saw the first episode of The Guild. It’s really interesting to hear how she got her start and plans for the future!

  16. Wrenaria says:

Great podcast. Really enjoyed it. Felicia is so inspiring.

  17. Greg Vestal says:

Thank you …. what a great find…. I love Felicia and her story

  18. “If you’re not happy, it’s not the end yet.” I love it. Thanks for this podcast! This was just the pick me up I needed to keep pounding the pavement in NYC 🙂 Thanks ladies.

  19. Lucas says:

I used to be very into acting myself. Even went to acting-oriented high school. Eventually it all faded away when life finally caught up with me, but it is still occasionally resurfacing. This interview gave me many tips on to how to go on with fulfilling a dream while still responsibly control my life. Thank you both, girls!

  20. JE Smith says:

Great interview, but WOW it seems like there are a lot of edits. Was FD just talking at warp 6 and you had to trim a lot of it out? 🙂

  21. Josh says:

    🙂
