Maisie Williams Reacts to GAME OF THRONES Season 7 Scripts

Has winter arrived yet? Because we’ll be one season closer to the premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones when it does. Season seven is a tiny dot on the horizon right now, but the actors are getting ready. Maisie Williams, a.k.a. Arya Stark, has read the scripts and shared some reactions to the craziness ahead. See those reactions in today’s TV-Cap, learn about the Anne of Green Gables series coming to Netflix, and more.

Shock Value. Game of Thrones continually delivers twists and turns, but even though I know to expect the unexpected, I still find myself surprised. According to Maisie Williams, I should brace myself and so should you. She tweeted she’d finished reading season seven scripts–which I’m impressed they have done already, unless filming is starting earlier this year or maybe they’re working on end of season stuff first?–and then shared statements that accurately describe everything we know about the fantasy series so far. It’s somehow going to get more intense, apparently.

A Different Take. Crackle is launching a TV series based on the film Snatch. The show and movie will share the name and the “spirit of the setting,” but Crackle says they’re creating a new world in their 10-episode season. And! They’ve announced some key cast members: Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Dougray Scott (Fear the Walking Dead) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl). The drama will debut in 2017.

The Final Bow. TV Land is saying good-bye to The Jim Gaffigan Show. The second season wrapped on Sunday, and there won’t be a third season. TV Land says it was a mutual agreement, and Jim Gaffigan supported that comment in a post on Twitter. He said, “We realize this may surprise some and we don’t make this decision lightly. It is hard to say goodbye to this highly personal passion project, which we have nurtured and poured our hearts into for over five years.” [Entertainment Weekly]

Campaign Time. The Powerpuff Girls is back with new episodes on September 1 on Cartoon Network. You can see a first look at the episode above-Blossom is running for Student Body President.

Who Measures Up? Netflix has picked up an ensemble comedy starring the likes of Cobie Smulders, Keegan-Michael Key, and Fred Savage. Friends from College is a half-hour show from Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco. It’s about looking at the lives of a 40-something group of friends who attended Harvard together. Production will kick off this fall. [Variety]

Celebratory Pigtail Time! Anne of Green Gables is one of those books that many of us had to read for school at some point. The story of the orphan Anne Shirley is sweet and endearing, and she’s coming to Netflix. The streaming service has ordered a two-season series adaptation of the book to premiere in 2017. I’m so looking forward to it. [Nerdist]

Purple Hues. As we recently mentioned in TV-Cap, Joey King is set to play Magenta in an early season three episode of The Flash. King recently showed off her character’s look in a photo on Twitter--how about those purple contacts? [CBR]

Getting Real. FXX’s You’re the Worst seems like a show that is all too real–at least, that’s what I’m getting from the season three trailer. The comedy comes back to FXX on August 31. [Slashfilm]

Nick-Centric. Fear the Walking Dead made its midseason debut on Sunday; it’s in the middle of season two. The episode had a lot of Nick, and you can read Joseph’s review of “Grotesque” here.

Did you watch Fear the Walking Dead’s midseason premiere? Are you excited about an adaptation of Anne of Green Gables? Sound off in the comments.
