Magic! Comedy! Justin Willman’s SLEIGHT OF MOUTH Debuts Tonight!

Yesterday at WonderCon, we spent the day hanging with magician extraordinaire Justin Willman, who performed magic tricks on the Nerdist Panel (hosted by our own Chris Hardwick and featuring the Nerdist Editorial team) and at the Nerdist and Geek & Sundry booth. We witnessed some of his impressive trickery firsthand, and all we can say is: how does he DO that?! Tonight, we’ll be celebrating the most remarkable miracle of all time: I’m referring, of course, to Justin Willman’s Sleight of Mouth special. It airs on Comedy Central at 12:30pm, right after Justin appears (and disappears?) on @midnight, so make sure you either tune in like the rest of us, set your DVRs, or buy it on iTunes. It’s a Nerdist-produced program, so we stamp our seal of approval on it wholeheartedly.

Comedy Central has also released some new promos for the special, and frankly, the first one makes me green with jealousy. Many are the times I wished I could’ve flicked a yuppie’s phone out of his hand from afar.

Willman also stopped by Conan earlier in the week to perform a couple tricks for Conan and his audience. First up, Justin and Conan touched just the tips… of their respective cards.

Then, Willman did the thing that magicians are never supposed to do; he revealed the mechanics behind the “Card & Balloon” bit! Or at least, he gives a rundown of a simple version of that trick, and then because Willman is 10% wizard (even though he claims not to be) he makes a card do a full-on Kitty Pryde and phase right into a clear balloon. On camera! It’s dark sided!

Right smack dab on the Nerdist Channel, you can watch Justin’s webseries, Justin Willman’s Magic Meltdown, and get a little taste of what’s to come. Let us know what sort of real, live magic you’re looking forward to tonight, and fellow magicians: share your tips and tricks in the comments below. MOAR MAGIC 4 ALL!

Justin Willman’s Sleight of Mouth premieres tonight at 12:30am on Comedy Central.
