Lynda Carter is SUPERGIRL’s President of the United States

…Because who needs Air Force One when you’ve got an invisible plane, amirite?

When it comes to running the White House, Hillary Clinton isn’t the only woman up for the job: so is Lynda Carter—a.k.a. the world’s most beloved Wonder Woman—who has been confirmed to portray the President of the United States of America on the CBS-turned-CW series Supergirl for a multi-episodic arc.

Carter will make her first appearance in the Greg Berlantiverse on the third episode of the series’ second season. There are very few details about what sort of President Carter will portray, but we’re fairly certain our own Wonder Woman superfan, Jessica Chobot, will have some thoughts, feelings, and ideas about this. (Seriously, Berlanti — call her. It’ll make her day. Nay, year.)

This is also, no doubt, a welcome sign for fans of the series who were worried the move from CBS to The CW would lessen the attraction of bigger name stars, especially with the series moving production from Los Angeles to Vancouver. It’s been reported that, because of said move, Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant may be a decreased presence (though there’s been no official word on this on the record or off, so take it with a grain of salt). With a get as impressive and beloved as TV’s first Wonder Woman hopping aboard the project, any and all fears should be assuaged on that front, don’t you think? We can’t even begin to deal with how many badass women are now on a single show. Our cups runneth over!

What do you think, though? Let us know in the comments below!
