Mike Colter Confirms the LUKE CAGE Premiere Date

Sweet Christmas! Leave it to Mike Colter to upstage Marvel‘s Man Without Fear at his own red carpet event. While making a brief appearance at the world premiere of Daredevil season 2, Colter revealed that his Luke Cage series will be dropping on September 30.

Colter said Luke Cage would be “action-packed, from beginning to the very end. Trust me. Daredevil premieres March 18, and I will see the fans on September 30th.” Colter immediately confirmed his series’ premiere date and added “you heard it here first!” Watch Colter make the announcement at the 2:10 mark of video below.

Luke Cage will be coming out two months earlier than Jessica Jones did the year before. Colter made his debut as Cage on that series, which established his super strength and unbreakable skin. The Luke Cage series will pick up with Luke rebuilding his life in Harlem before circumstances force him to stand up and be the hero that his city needs.

Daredevil and Jessica Jones veteran Rosario Dawson will co-star in the Luke Cage series as Claire Temple, with Simone Missick making her MCU debut as the heroine, Misty Knight. Sons of Anarchy star Theo Rossi will step into a villainous role as Shades, with Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, and Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe.

Colter has previously hinted that Iron Fist may make his debut on Luke Cage. And since we now know that Finn Jones is playing Danny Rand/Iron Fist, that certainly looks like a strong possibility.
