Hamiltonâs creator Lin-Manuel Miranda sang clues on Jeopardy! the other night, and the internet continues to be charmed. The show has become such a cultural phenomenon that itâs not uncommon to log into Facebook these days, as a New Yorker at least, and have messages from friends asking if you can help them get tickets. The answer generally is no, but thanks to the overwhelming success of the show, Hamilton is becoming more and more available to the masses. He is very enthusiastic about this, by the way.

In addition to the wonderfully charming performance given here by LMM, as the internet has shortened their golden childâs name to (seriously take a wander around the Hamilton fandom sometime – it is intense), it was announced this week that the show will be taking the stage in Chicago next year. People are simultaneously thrilled the show is on the move from its Broadway home and utterly depressed because they donât live in New York City or Chicago.
Now my TL looks like the section of Room Where It Happens where everyone screams where the capital should be.
love you & grateful for you.— Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) December 8, 2015
As a lifelong fan of theater, it has been incredible to see the show take off with such success. I havenât even seen it yet, and I have a tendency to grin like a fool and babble enthusiastically for 20 minutes when talking about it. I love that people watching Jeopardy! are actually getting to see something cool and new on their screens as the musicalâs creator stands there and sings clues to a camera.
I hope you use this tiny little snippet of singing as a jumping off point to get yourself into the show. Download the soundtrack and get hooked. But please, donât send me a message on Facebook about tickets. I really canât help you get them. Iâve been trying to get them for months.
