In case you forgot how important Sweden musicians and producers are in the world of pop music, the country is patting itself on the collective back by issuing a stamp series that celebrates some of their most successful pop-music exports.
The line of stamps from PostNord, Sweden’s postal service, will feature electro-dance icon Robyn, twee-folk band First Aid Kit, dubstep DJ Avicii, soul singer Seinabo Sey and mega-producer Max Martin (Taylor Swift, Britney Spears).
What was First Aid Kit’s reaction to being featured on a stamp?
“Being on a stamp is really awesome, and also very surreal,” Klara and Johanna Söderberg said in a press release. “It’s not something people expect to happen! Weâre planning to send a letter to our beloved grandfather in Hampetorp â heâll be surprised for sure.”
According to PostNord, the country couldn’t think of a better way to congratulate the ever-evolving artistic community, saying, “Sweden, with a population of only 9 million, is third in world in pop music exports. PostNord is profiling this achievement by issuing stamps featuring a selection of the Swedish artists and songwriters who are currently spreading Swedish music across the world.”
Each of the illustrated stamps were drawn by Swedish artist Jenny Mörtsell, who modeled the renderings after original photographs taken by Alex Wessley, Andreas Larsson, Kirstoffer Berg, Johannes Helje and Mikael Dahl.
The stamps will be available for use in Sweden starting January 15, 2015.
Who wants to take bets on when Spotify and SoundCloud, both Swedish inventions, will each get their own postal homage?

Go Sweden! We may be a “smal” countery, but boy do we know how to make music.
