LETTERS TO CLEO are Back with New Music and a Tour

Some things just take you back. And, truly, few things give us ’90s nostalgia feels like Letters to Cleo. From their cover of “I Want You to Want Me” or their hit tune “Here and Now,” the band embodied the attitude of the late nineties/early aughts with their upbeat, alt-pop-punk sound and confessional lyrics. And now? Well, like all good things associated with a beloved time, Letters to Cleo are back. This is not a drill. The band that soundtracked some of the most instantly classic teen shows and films from the era—hi, 10 Things I Hate About You, Jawbreaker, and Melrose Place—are coming back just in the nick of time because they want you to want them.

Putting out new music for the first time in 17 years, the band started a Pledge Music campaign to get people hyped (and bring in some cash to actually fund the record’s reaction) before the September 30 release date. The band’s original line-up—including Kay Hanley, Michael Eisenstein, Stacy Jones, and Greg McKenna—will also be going on a 5-stop mini tour in October and November, the dates of which can be seen below:

October 20 | The Rickshaw Stop — San Francisco, CA
October 22 | The Troubadour  — Los Angeles, CA
November 4 | The Double Door — Chicago, IL
November 17 | Bowery Ballroom – New York, NY
November 19 | The Paradise – Boston, MA

The band also had a bit of a mini-resurgence in 2011/2012 thanks to Ben Wyatt’s obsession with the band on NBC’s Parks and Recreation. They even showed up in the Pawnee-Eagleton Unity Concert. You know, the scene where Li’l Sebastian came out all holo style and we all laughed until we cried?

Needless to say, we’re very excited about the return of Letters to Cleo, but probably not as excited as Adam Scott. Are you? Let us know in the comments below!
