Itâs been six years since Leslie Bibb appeared in a Marvel movie, but sheâs still a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Ahead of the release of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel Studios has released a new viral video in which Bibb reprises her role as Christine Everhart from the first two Iron Man films.
Everhart has clearly come a long way since the time she wrote about Tony Stark for Vanity Fair. As seen in last yearâs Ant-Man viral videos, Everhart is now the host for WHIH News, a very CNN-like news organization within the MCU. For the newly released Civil War tie-in video, Bibb is joined by The Daily Show correspondent Al Madrigal, who is portraying a very pro-superhero analyst named Will Adams.
The primary topic of the video is about the collateral damage left behind by the heroes of the MCU and whether the Avengers should submit to oversight from the United Nations. Adams argues in favor of the heroes remaining independent, while Everhart appears to favor the idea of reigning in the superhumans.
There are also callbacks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as the fallout from Black Widowâs congressional testimony and her release of classified S.H.I.E.L.D. documents continues to play out. If you read the news ticker below, youâll also see a reference to Alexander Pierce, one of the key figures in The Winter Soldier.
The news ticker also reveals that William Hurtâs General Thaddeus Ross (better known to comic book fans as General Thunderbolt Ross) has retired from the military. Rossâ new role will be revealed pretty early on in Civil War, as he has a key part to play in the film.
Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 6.
