Lena Dunham’s GIRLS are Trying to Grow Up (and Failing, Natch) in Season 4 Trailer

Love or hate Hannah Horvath, her adventures are nothing if not conversation-worthy. And her attempts to grow the eff up in season four of HBO’s Girls show no sign of letting up, even if she is actively choosing to eat grapes as a snack.

The it’s-not-TV network released the first official trailer for the upcoming installment of Privileged Millennial Antics Gone Brooklyn, only there’s a far more midwestern bent this go-around. Hannah has left New York City and her cohort of girlfriends for the far less bustling Iowa Writer’s Workshop — one of the most prestigious and impressive writing programs in the country.

Turns out? Her autobiographical style may not be everyone’s cup of tea (no surprise there). But she doesn’t have to go it all alone, as evidenced by the party animal ways of Elijah, back in his frenemy’s good graces for at least a minute. Oh goodie! Their crashing of an undergraduate party will probably be exactly as cringeworthy as you’re imagining it now. Maybe even more so (go back to grad school weirdos)!

But back on the east coast, things are seemingly far less insulated and idyllic. Shoshanna cannot seem to find a job; Marnie is making music but still pining (and messing around with) her he-has-a-girlfriend bandmate; Jessa’s getting arrested (with Adam!) because of course, and, well, Adam seems to be feeling insecure for the first time in his life. Ah, youth.

Girls returns on January 11th. Will you be tuning in? Let us hear all about it in the comments. Oh and be sure to share your opinions on Lena Dunham the person because we just never, ever, ever hear enough of THAT on the Internet!
