The internet was collectively set afire last week when we got our grubby little fanboy/fangirl paws on the first extended look at what is arguably the year’s most anticipated new film. Sure, sure, Avengers: Age of Ultron is no doubt going to be a smash success, and I personally am very anxious to see it; but even a sure-fire blockbuster like that pales in comparison to the bright shining spot that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The team over at FinalFeature took the time to rebuild all of the epic moments from last week’s squee-making trailer. I mean, who didn’t pee their pants a little last week at the end when Han says “Chewie, we’re home.”??? WHO, I SAY!?
This video does a bang-up job bringing brick-life to the Millenium Falcon, the X-Wings, Daisey Ridley’s desert speeder, John Boyega’s conflicted Stormtrooper, and the film’s new Big Bad. Full disclosure: before last week, I wasn’t totally over the Endor forest moon about the new film. Yes, I like the Star Wars film property, of course. I loved the Clone Wars animated series. But the Prequel Trilogy was just, well, you know. I didn’t even get super duper hyped when J.J. Abrams signed on to direct, even though I’m a fan of his as well. But now that we’re getting closer and more images are being released and there’s a better sense of the quality of film it will be, I am firmly and truly excited. I’m always (rightfully, I think) skeptical when an older film series get “new life” breathed into it, but Force Awakens might just be the droid film we’re looking for.
