LEGO Star Wars Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary With 5 New Vehicle Sets

In 1999, LEGO released its first product line featuring a licensed property. That property? Just a little thing called Star Wars. Ever heard of it?

Now, 20 years later, LEGO Star Wars is celebrating two decades of work with brand new toy sets featuring iconic ships and vehicles from the Star Wars universe. The sets recall some of the most famous scenes from the original trilogy and prequels, and each comes with a 20th anniversary collectible minifigure in tribute to the history of the line. The sets won’t be available until later this year, but here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect ahead of the release.

First up is this Imperial Dropship, that comes with a set of three regular Stormtroopers and a Shadow Trooper for the cockpit. The set also comes with stud blasters to be deployed in the fight against the Rebels.

Next is this Clone Scout Walker and the Dwarf Spider Droid it must destroy! The set comes with the Walker, Droid, Kashyyyk Trooper, a Wookiee and a Battle Droid.

This Snowspeeder is straight out of the opening scene of The Empire Strikes Back, complete with Luke Skywalker and Dak Ralter minifigures, a Rebel Trooper, and a stud shooter. Luke even comes with this trademark blue lightsaber.

With Boba Fett’s Slave I starship, you can travel the galaxy searching for bounty. The set wouldn’t be complete without a Han Solo in carbonite. (It comes with a separate Han Solo figure, too.)

And finally, from the movie that’s anniversary corresponds with LEGO Star Wars’, it’s Anakin’s podracer from The Phantom Menace. The set comes with a young Anakin Skywalker as well as a young Padme Amidala.

Congrats to LEGO Star Wars for 20 years of success – we can’t wait to get our hands on these excellent vehicle sets when they hit shelves later this year.
