One of the first words to come to mind when you think about Star Wars‘Â newest astromech droid, BB-8:Â âround.â So if you wanted to build your own life-sized version of him, you probably wouldnât choose the notoriously angular LEGOs as your medium. Well, apparently, they make a great choice, as you can see in this time-lapse video.
This LEGO BB-8 was made by the folks at Bright Bricks, for the U.K. premiere of The Force Awakens. Itâs crazy how spherical they made him with square little bricks. While he might not be able to roll around, his head can move.
Itâs awesome to get to see the process of making something so impressive. The way they built his frame even looks like how the real BB-8 from the movie was made, as you can see in this video.
Oh, if you are put off or angry by the use of glue, and demand the integrity and strength of the LEGOs be enough to hold everything together, well, they donât have a choice. Bright Bricks explained, âWe are required by law to use steel and mek adhesive for any of our models which are going on public display for health and safety reasons.â People canât walk by a âWet Paintâ sign without touching the wall, and you trust them not to pick at LEGOs?
Also, why are you so angry about LEGOs?
What other character from The Force Awakens would you like to see them tackle next? Let’s use the comments section below to construct some good ideas.
