It’s time to read TV-Cap and get a pleasant start to your day, because we have all the goods. Legion is getting renewed for a second season, a new and bloody trailer for American Gods is here, there’s a new promo for The Flash/Supergirl musical crossover, and more.
Thank Goodness. FX’s Legion has proved to be something fresh and inventive in the sea of comic book-inspired series on television. Showrunner Noah Hawley has taken David Haller and constructed a wild and gorgeous world around him. And though, yes, we’re nearing the end of the eighth episode of the first season, we have more to look forward to. FX has renewed Legion for season two; it will air in 2018.
Following the Script. Don your fanciest Golden Age of Hollywood dress (everyone has one of those, right?) and get ready for “Duet.” The upcoming episode of The Flash, airing March 21, is a musical one featuring none other than Supergirl and some of her pals. Barry and Kara get placed inside a musical by Music Meister and they have to follow the script to find their way out. They don’t have a copy of that script, so it’s a bit of a guessing game. The promo looks fun, though I am amused by Music Meister looking practically identical to Mr. Mxyzptlk. [CBR]
And Also! You know what else has been renewed? Crashing. HBO has given a greenlight to a second season for the comedy. It’s created by and stars Pete Holmes, the host of Nerdist Podcast Network’s You Made It Weird.
Intel. How are Marvel’s Inhumans like Pepsi? Dan breaks it down in the latest installment of The Dan Cave as he reviews the comic book history highlights for the group. It’s everything you need to know to prepare for the upcoming IMAX/ABC series. [Nerdist]
Going Primetime. Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update segment is spinning off to do its own thing during SNL’s summer hiatus. NBC is moving forward with Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update for a four week stint starting on August 10. The usual hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che will be around every week, and they’ll be joined now and again by other pals SNL cast. [Deadline]

Dev’s Back! Mark your calendars, Master of None fans. Star Aziz Ansari announced the Netflix series’ season two premiere date: May 12. His character, Dev, comes back to New York “to take on challenges in his personal and family life, a new career opportunity, and a complex, developing relationship with someone very meaningful to him.”
Willow and Tara. Buffy the Vampire Slayer recently crossed the 20th anniversary mark, and there are so many elements of the series worth celebrating. One aspect in particular? Willow and Tara. The show was one of the first to explore a lesbian relationship. Read more about why it was important from Juliet here at Nerdist.
Some Really Weird Shit. American Gods by Neil Gaiman is one of those books that’s weird in the best, get under your skin sort of ways. It peels back layers and shows a world that doesn’t feel entirely impossible. Based on this trailer for the Starz television adaptation of the novel, I have every hope they’re going to nail the bizarre aspects and make it all goddamn beautiful to gaze upon. Watch the trailer and tell me if you agree. Also, how much is Ian McShane killing it as Mr. Wednesday? The April 30 premiere needs to hurry the hell up. [Nerdist]
