We recently reported that Dead Rising, Capcom’s popular open-world zombie franchise, sold its domestic film rights to Sony’s online video platform, Crackle. With a release date of March 27, 2015 limping ever so closely,  more information is slowly being released like the synopses, characters/actors, and now we get a new poster of one of the characters in the film–General Lyons, played by Dennis Haysbert. If he seems familiar, he is the man with the very deep, very inviting voice in the AllState commercials. In the Dead Rising film he plays a U.S Army man who seems to be in charge of the quarantine zone where the zombie outbreak occurred.
The poster gives us a close look at General Lyons in his full outfit looking surprisingly fearless. Clutching his weapon he stares menacingly into the distance probably starring down his next flesh eating target. If you look a bit closer, you’ll also see a bunch of zombies in the background with some helicopters and army men pointing their weapons at the infected. Fans of the franchise will also notice that the font that has grazed the cover of many of the Dead Rising titles.
If you are interested in watching the film it will release on Crackle March 27 but if you own an Xbox with the application you’ll be able to watch it a week in advance (March 20).
(Note:Â Nerdist Industries is owned by Legendary Pictures but retains editorial independence.)
