Legendary To Bring DEAD RISING Feature Film To Crackle

If you’re a fan of rampaging through hordes of undead flesh bags with a paddle-saw, a.k.a. Capcom’s Dead Rising series, then you’re in for a delightful treat. Legendary just sold the domestic film rights for the game franchise to Sony’s streaming online video platform Crackle. A feature-length film is now in the works and will be written by Tim Carter and produced Tomas Harlan under their Contradiction Films (Mortal Kombat: Legacy) umbrella.

The feature-length film will debut in the US by way of Crackle, with the international version being distributed in both episodic and feature length formats via Content Media Corporation. After the film’s period of Crackle exclusivity runs out, it will be released across SVOD, DVD, VOD and TV platforms.

Capcom has been in the news quite a bit over the last two days, with many keeping eyes on their current buyout situation, so it’s definitely a relief to hear some good news for once about one of the legendary (no pun intended) third-party developer’s properties. For PC gamers looking to try the latest installment of the game, Dead Rising 3 is available for pre-purchase at 25% off as part of Steam’s summer sale.
