Learn How to Make a Difference with this ROBOT PSA

Back on February 24, we posted a video about the Atlas robot, the latest creation from Boston Dynamics. The video was to show how far we have come in the world of robot technology. In fact, this is not the first time we posted videos like this to explore the possibilities this science can bring.

Well, YouTube user Greg Killian has decided that these videos aren’t showing us the progress we are making, but a wrong that must be righted. Greg made a supercut of a multitude of stability, endurance, and strength tests on different robots. Set to ANYTHING else, this video would be a cool way to show robots learning to get up and stay standing on their own. HOWEVER, set to a commentary track by a representative of the ASPCA, and you see this technology not as something to be amazed by, but something to feel sorry for.

Not only do we see victims instead of breakthroughs, but what was supposed to be an awesome Battlebots-style Royal Rumble became nothing more than a bunch of hooligans exploiting their creations for money.

If you would like to fake help this fake cause to help fake save these fake creatures, there is a fake website in the video where you can go to pretend and make a difference.

So what do you think? are you okay with this type of behavior, or does something have to be done? Let me know on Twitter or bring your protest signs to the comments below.
