Léa Seydoux: The Next BOND Girl? Apparently So!

According to The Daily Mail, Daniel Craig’s latest Bond girl has been found, and it’s Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol actress Léa Seydoux.

The French actress has reportedly been tapped to play the latest Bond film’s femme fatale du jour, following in the iconic footsteps of actresses such as Diana Rigg, Jane Seymour, Famke Janssen, Denise Richards, Halle Berry, and Eva Green — just to name a few in a long list of women who have played the female counterparts to Bond’s debonair and dashing super-spy.

But Seydoux is no slouch, either, having received serious accolades for her work in Blue is the Warmest Color, a controversial French film about one young girl’s sexual awakening and coming-of-age. At Last year’s Cannes the jury was so impressed with Seydoux and her co-star Adèle Exarchopoulos’ performances as lovers in the film, they insisted the actresses share the festival’s highest honor, the Palme d’Or, with director Abdellatif Kechiche. A first in the history of the award.

If confirmed, Seydoux will join not only Craig, but returning castmates Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris in the not-yet-officially-titled 24th installment of the Bond story. Based on the stories of author Ian Fleming, the Sam Mendes-directed iteration is slated for a 2015 release. Mendes — who also directed Skyfall — has previously stated that the new installment will be the second part of the Skyfall story.

What do you think of the potential choice of Seydoux as the upcoming Bond gal? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments.

  1. Caroline says:

I am french so in France, we know that Léa Seydoux is only famous because her father is the owner of a Chain of Cinema and he is already in the cinematographic environment. She is not classy. A lot of famous actress could have been better in this role.

    • Kate says:

You could have at least got your facts right before spouting your spiteful hate and illogical reasons as

to why Léa was cast as the new Bond girl.

Her father founded Parrot, a French wireless products

      manufacturer.

You are in fact referring to her grand father and great uncle. Bond is in no way connected to Pathe or

      Gaumont.

I am fed up of reading these stupid comments by jealous people who have no idea about the film

industry. Léa is an amazing award winning actress who also happens to be classy and beautiful. You

should be happy that she is representing your country!

  2. She’d make an interesting Miss Bond. Exploding bad-guy fort’s just by winking.

  3. Excellent casting, I think she could excel next to Craig who – for my money – is second only to Connery right now as Bond. Very interested to see the second half of the Skyfall story and Ralph Fiennes fully step into the role of M.
