Two years ago, Rooster Teeth introduced fans to Lazer Team, the champions of humanity. Against all odds, four ordinary men—Anthony, Woody, Zach, and Herman—managed to repel an alien invasion by using an otherworldly supersuit that was split between them. In just a few days, Lazer Team 2 is coming to YouTube Red, and Anthony, Zach, and Herman will soon find themselves in a tight spot on the other side of the galaxy. In this exclusive preview from the movie, the guys attempt to “go easy” on the aliens as they test out their new armor pieces. But they may soon come to regret that decision.
Lazer Team 2 picks up a few years after the original movie, as the team apparently drifted apart from each other. While some of the other guys squandered their gifts, Woody turned to science and formed a partnership with Maggie Wittington (Nichole Bloom). But in the course of their interstellar research, Woody was kidnapped by aliens and dragged through a wormhole. With few alternatives at her disposal, Maggie decided to reunite the rest of Lazer Team and mount a rescue mission to save Woody.
So far, the trailers for Lazer Team 2 have been somewhat vague about the new alien menace facing the team this time. This preview clip appears to take place after the guys have accepted the mission to find Woody and stepped through the wormhole into the aliens’ domain. But getting there was the easy part. Making their way home is going to be considerably more difficult, especially because the team tends to be their own worst enemies.
YouTube Red will release Lazer Team 2 on November 22.
