Larry David is hosting this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, and even in the highly unlikely event the entire episode is a disaster and nothing funny happens, it will still be a complete and total success because of these promos he did for the show with Leslie Jones.
In them, David and Jones are sitting in a restaurant discussing the upcoming week’s episode, and of course they don’t exactly agree on whether or not people should bother tuning in and watching. “You know what, I’d rather they didn’t watch to tell you the truth,” says David.
“Why did they even hire you man?”
“I don’t know it’s a big mistake–huge, huge mistake.”
Lest you think only he could get on her nerves, he was not very happy that, unlike all the other male hosts, she wasn’t hitting on him.
“What’s your problem?”
“Too old for me.”
David has already appeared on SNL this year, fulfilling the role he was meant to play, Bernie Sanders, but this angry, hilarious interaction with Leslie Jones is another reminder of how we need a new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Uh, Mr. David, if you still need an idea for a new season, how about just having you and Leslie Jones hang out and yell at each other. It’s a guaranteed hit.
Plus, as we learned from this promo, she already has her own Curb-style ending song to use.
If that won’t work I have four words for HBO: True. Detective. Season. Three.
The musical guest this weekend is The 1975.
