Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Made a Music Video for Toto’s “Africa”

I didn’t know it was possible to love Toto’s song “Africa” any more than I already did. But Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell used their trip to Africa to make a new music video for the song, and now I know that love truly knows no bounds.

Shepard posted the video to his YouTube account with this note:

This was our last trip before having kids. Our sole objective was to rage hard and honor Toto properly. Hope you enjoy.”

Honor Toto they did.

This is so perfect that I can’t really believe it exists. It would have been one thing to just make a highlight reel video of their favorite moments set to the song (a song that has a 100% approval rating, I might add), but no, they had a plan to make a real music video, and they executed it. They didn’t just sing some parts, they had full coverage from multiple locales, and even threw in plenty of “air” instruments and choreography to give it the full effect. I just hope that gorilla appreciated what he was seeing.

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the real video for this song, but it’s kind of amazing on it’s own, seeing as how it pure ’80s cheese, from the sound and look, to the clothing and facial hair.

“You guys want to dress up for the shoot today?”
“Why?”

I’m just glad we live in a world where both now exist. Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell were already pretty well-established as one of the most likable celebrity couples in Hollywood, but this might just send them to the top of that list.

What trip should these two take next to make another great music video? Maybe somewhere cold, where they might want to build a snowman? Tell us your best ideas below.
