April is going to be a big month for pop culture fanatics. Game of Thrones returns. Avengers: Endgame hits theaters. A Star Wars: Episode IX trailer will likely debut at Celebration. And if that wasn’t enough, BBC America‘s sultry assassin thriller Killing Eve will return for its much-anticipated second season on April 7 at 8PM/7C. It’s a stacked month.

Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer will return as Eve and Villanelle, an MI6 operative and a psychopathic assassin locked in a deadly, seductive, mutually obsessive game of cat-and-mouse. The second season will pick up “exactly 36 heart-thumping seconds after the events of the season finale,” according to a press release. After a bloody confrontation between the two women, Eve is hot on Villanelle’s trail, but this time she’s not the only one looking for the assassin.
Killing Eve picked up a ton of steam after its debut last year, landing on a number of best-of critics lists: It was Metacritic’s top drama on its âTV Shows Mentioned On Most Critic Top 10 Lists â 2018″ round-up. The show also scored major nominations at the Emmys and Golden Globes, which Oh will co-host with Andy Samberg this Sunday. If she wins Best Actress in a Drama Series, it will be only the second time in the awards show’s history where a host picked up an award the night of their duties, after Amy Poehler won for Parks & Recreation in 2013.
April may be a busy month, but with quality premieres like this, who can complain?
