In 1988, Charles Chiodo, Edward Chiodo, and Stephen Chiodo pooled their talents while writing, directing, and producing Killer Klowns From Outer Space. As the title suggests, this sci-fi horror comedy was about evil alien invaders who just happened to look and act like nightmarish circus clowns. While a sequel has yet to materialize, the film has gone on to become a cult classic, and the Chiodo Brothers are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their famous movie by releasing a new line of handmade Killer Klown puppets.
Via Bloody Disgusting, the Chiodos have unveiled their “Knock My Block Off Action Puppets” on their official site. Note that these are not necessarily the same Klowns from the original movie, but they seem to evoke the spirit of that film. There are five puppets in total, starting with Blubbo.
Next up, meet Droog.
Kvetch seems to have cornered the “creepy uncle vibe.”
For some reason, we think that the Ozob puppet is the one most likely to come to life and stalk you in your own home.
And finally, we have Snarlz. What a charmer.
The puppets are $200 individually, and there are only 125 copies of each character. The official description calls them “one-of-a-kind, highly detailed, hand painted, punching action puppets.” However, there is also a disclaimer that says each puppet is unique, so there will be variations in hair color and painted details around the eyes and color. In other words, the puppets you buy may not necessarily look exactly like the puppets pictured here.
If you want to invite these Killer Klowns puppets into your home, the Chiodos’ official site has all of the details.
