Weâre getting closer and closer to the December release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and each day it seems like we get something interesting to whet our appetites, even when the news is about who didn’t end up in the film.
Like musician and actor Kid Cudi, who apparently auditioned for a role in the upcoming Star Wars film. Responding to a fan on Twitter that said Cudi should have tried out for the movie, the musician-turned-actor saidâTWIST!âthat he had.
I auditioned!! That whole experience alone was WILD. Happy I was able to get in the room and try! Blessed! https://t.co/fWF1U0sUNb

What role did he audition for? Well if he wonât give us any specifics weâll just have to speculate on our own. Finn seems like the most obvious guess, but with such a vast universe of characters itâs feasible he was in consideration for any number of roles.
Cudi has plenty of experience acting in comedies, could he have been under consideration for a comic-relief type role that usually accompanies each movie? Cudi took over for Reggie Watts on Comedy Bang! Bang! this year and has been a great addition. Maybe J.J. Abrams was looking to add a little irreverent hipster comedy into the Jedi Order. Those guys could use a laugh every now and then.
Wondering what could have been, or rather who could have been, isnât new. Rami Malek told our own Alicia Lutes that he too auditioned for the film. Who could he have been? Kylo Ren possibly?
Well, we know the Disney-helmed Star Wars movies are just gearing up for a slew of films, so there is plenty of time for Kid Cudi and Rami Malek to still be cast in one of them.
What roles do you think they were under consideration for? Join us in the wild speculation in the galaxy of the comments section.
