Kevin Bacon Demands You Never Forget The ’80s

Via Mashable, here’s a message for millenials from Kevin Bacon:

Hey, Kevin Bacon, I’ll have you know that I’m a millennial and can totally pay attention for way longer than two m… ooooo, kitty tumblr gif sets. CUTE!

But seriously, it must have been crazy living in the ’80s, what with getting nuked every half block and all. ’80s awareness is truly a big problem… unless you count series like ABC’s The Goldbergs and FX’s The Americans; remakes, re-releases, sequels and fresh adaptations of ’80s material such as Top Gun, Evil Dead, Beverly Hills Cop, Indiana Jones, Die Hard, The Terminator and Jack Ryan; not to mention the continued love of ’80s bands including Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Bon Jovi, Slayer and The Beastie Boys.

Not that Kevin Bacon is wrong – he’s Kevin Bacon, he’s never wrong because he’s Kevin Bacon – it’s easy to see how we millennials may have lost touch with the ’80s, what with our iPhones and what-not. But I am here to tell you, as a millennial, we love the ’80s. You guys had your **** down back in the day. I mean, E.T.? Miami Vice? Star Trek: The Next Generation? You guys knew what you were doing, and we have not forgotten your contributions to society, and I have even touched on your additions to the gaming world.

So relax, you ’80s alums, you are not forgotten. In fact, you should be celebrating. Not only did you have one of the most creatively successful decades in recorded history, but you helped the Rubik’s Cube survive. You should be proud of that.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have three movies to watch at once on my iPad while playing a rousing game of Flappy Bird.
