Kermit Offers Rocket Raccoon A Spot With The Muppets

During their press tour for the August 12th release of Muppets Most Wanted on Blu-Ray and HD, Kermit the Frog and Pepe the King Prawn stopped into MTV News to talk summer movies and animal actors. Kermit seems like the perfect ambassador for animal actors, right? He’s been in the business for decades; he knows positively everyone; and no one has to worry about him taking their gigs – I mean how much makeup and CGI would it take to make a talking frog into a talking dog or cat? Way more than Hollywood can afford!

Feel good moment of this clip? Definitely this line from Kermit: “Rocket could always come and join the Muppets if it doesn’t work out over there.” It’s good to know that everyone’s favorite recalcitrant raccoon has options but we’re pretty sure that Rocket and his dancing Baby Groot will be sticking around The Milano for the near future.

In addition to discussing everyone’s favorite summer hit, Kermit lets slip this bit of making-of Avengers gossip: “I did actually try out for the part of the Hulk. Turns out I had the green but I didn’t quite have the body so they went with Mark.”

We would have paid good money to see Kermit scaling buildings and grabbing Iron Man out of the sky, Marvel! What gives!?

Ever the ambassador, Kermit does defer discussion of Howard the Duck’s whereabouts pre-Guardians of the Galaxy to his pal Donald, and Pepe makes sure to remind his aquatic actor brethren to steer clear of buffets.

  1. I can’t have been the only one to hear Pepe call him “Mark Buffalo.” Fantastic.
