Katy Manning’s Visit to the DOCTOR WHO Set is the Cutest Thing in All of Time and Space

Sorry, but there is no cuter Doctor Who companion than Katy Manning. Those that disagree need only look below: the actress formally known as Jo Grant to John Pertwee’s Third Doctor managed to snag a highly coveted visit to the series’ set while they were filming the Christmas special, and well? It was perfect. Just absolutely perfect.

Manning took to Twitter over the weekend to highlight her trip in the latest TARDIS this past Thursday — apparently her first time back in Whoville since her time with Eleven and Sarah Jane in The Sarah Jane Adventures. For those not in the know, Jo Grant was a UNIT operative that appeared on the series for three years, from 1971 – 1973 alongside a Doctor to which current iteration, Peter Capaldi, gets plenty of comparisons. (Must be that snazzy red lining, huh?)

Writer/director/producer Scott Handcock — who at one point was the production secretary for the series — was the one who made the whole affair happen after an event Manning attended at the National Museum of Wales. And she caused quite the kerfuffle on Twitter when he did! “Peter Capaldi is not only a superb actor but one of the most charming men I have ever met & oh ! Those eyes,” she tweeted.

As for Manning, she had a visible blast on the set, and even got to meet Clara. “Briefly met Jenna Coleman who is impossibly pretty on screen & impossibly pretty off,” Manning tweeted. “Love her as Clara.”

The best part of the photos, though? Gotta be the poses. Look at these two nerds, nerding out like heaps of time and space haven’t passed between their last meetings. Some friendships, am I right?

What do you think of Manning’s visit? Would you like to see her pop up in the Christmas Special? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Absolutely awesome!!! The “#3 pose” with her is brilliant! Too bad Elizabeth Sladen isn’t around to do this too. Let’s get ’em all back!
