JURASSIC WORLD Honest Trailer Loves Dinos, Hates Humans

It was a pretty safe bet that Jurassic World would be a box office hit, but few could have predicted that it would become the highest grossing movie of the year to date. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, and Spectre are gonna have a hard time matching Jurassic World’s global haul. But just because Jurassic World was phenomenally successful doesn’t mean that it was a perfect film. Far from it, in fact. Which is why the new Honest Trailer sets its sights on Jurassic World with an extra long installment as it challenges the film’s leading characters Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), and Vic Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio).

How is it possible that the leading characters of Jurassic World are more one-dimensional than their counterparts in the original Jurassic Park? And isn’t the premise for Jurassic World pretty much the same one that the first film used in 1993? Claire takes the bulk of the criticism—including her improbable escape from a dinosaur while wearing high heels and for her eventual hook up with Owen despite the fact that they don’t really like each other. But Owen gets a few shots from the HT team as well—especially for Prattkeeping.

Vic’s nefarious plan for the raptors is also mocked and accurately described as “a Doctor Evil level of stupid.” And it really is. The Sea World, Syfy movie, and Pinkberry analogies were also very on point.

But there is at least one thing about Jurassic World that even the Honest Trailers team loves: the climactic tag-team dinosaur battle! And who couldn’t appreciate a good dino battle?
