Jonah Ray and Mikal Cronin Recreate Paul Simon’s ‘You Can Call Me Al’ Music Video

And everything ends in blood-soaked horror.

Walking into this video, you’re like “Oh sweet, Mikal Cronin is a rad musician, and Jonah Ray is a Nerdist homie, so this duo recreating Paul Simon’s classic music video for “You Can Call Me All” is going to be awesome. This pastiche video is going to go flawlessly. And it does…for a while.

But after Jonah and Cronin assume the roles of Chevy Chase and Paul Simon, things get hectic when Kurt Braunohler emerges wearing the same white sport jacket and black shirt, forcing Jonah to really vie for his part. And then Nick Thune walks out wearing the same thing. One thing leads to another and we learn that Cronin has quintuple-booked the part of Chevy Chase with the world’s tallest comedians, and that it is all part of the seemingly friendly and taciturn musician’s diabolical plan…

After the group begins argue with one another, Cronin stabs the shit out of some P.A. and then goes on a Rampage style murder spree, killing his comedic sidekicks one-by-one with various weapons including his fucking mind, you guys. Cronin then tops off (heh) the horror by dousing himself in gasoline while all his Chevy Chases lay motionless on the floor.

After you are through watching this hilario usly gruesome video, be sure to check out the rest of Cronin’s most recent album, MCIII, out now via Merge.
