New York Magazine’s Vulture blog ran a piece today called “The 50 Comedians You Should and Will Know.” Yes, some of Nerdist’s own folks and friends are on the list. And, yes, we are very proud of that.
The article explains its picks thusly: “This time next year (and in some cases, next week or month), there will be another wave of sharp comics and performers who will break out with major TV or film projects, and the media will write many ‘Where did s/he come from?’ stories. Comedy fans will roll their eyes, having known for a long time that it was inevitable that these talented people would make it big. And now you will be able to knowingly roll your eyes with them: After huddling with a panel of journalists embedded in the comedy beat (note: one of the experts they consulted was our own Jake Kroeger, who certainly does know comedy), we have assembled a list of the 50 Comedians You Should and Will Know.”
The list includes Our Own Jonah Ray and Our Own Kumail Nanjiani and Our Own Pete Holmes along with Our Own Riki Lindhome with Kate Micucci as part of Garfunkel and Oates.
And John Mulaney, Ron Funches, Chelsea Peretti, Katie Dippold, Baron Vaughn, The Birthday Boys, Amy Schumer, Rory Scovel, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, Kyle Kinane, Moshe Kasher, June Diane Raphael, Matt Jones, Megan Amram, Jerrod Carmichael, Thomas Middleditch, Issa Rae, Jason Mantzoukas, Jon Daly, Kay Cannon, Julie Klausner, Lauren Lapkus, Hannibal Buress, James Adomian, Chris Gethard, Elaine Carroll, Echo Kellum, Gil Ozeri, Lauryn Kahn, BriTANick, Michael Che, Jake and Amir, Gabe Liedman, Megan Ganz, Cristela Alonzo, Mike O’Brien, Joe Mande, Deon Cole, Tig Notaro, Betsy Sodaro, Paul Rust, Bo Burnham, Angela Trimbur, Harris Wittels, Paula Pell, and Nick Thune.
Well, that’s certainly an impressive list. You could quibble over people being left off (hey, where’s MY name?), but you can’t argue with anyone on the list. Congratulations to all of ’em. Go read all the entries here.

I love that Chris wrote Jonah’s comedy endorsement because it was the sweetest and funniest thing everrrrrrr
Love the list, but how the hell was Hampton Yount not on it!
I feel like Bill Burr will soon take Louis C.K’s “spot” as your Comedian’s Comedian. After that, I’m guessing Hannibal
