We love The Daily Showâs Jon Stewart and The Colbert Reportâs Stephen Colbert, but what we love most is when Comedy Centralâs faux late night news team comes together for viral video gold (or gold of any kind, really), which is exactly what they did for this new video in which the duo battles to determine who among them is the ultimate Star Wars fan worthy of an on-screen cameo role in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming Star Wars:Â Episode VII. Check it out:
Anything that lets us see Jon Stewart dressed up as Princess Leia gets an automatic win in our book. The best part is how beautifully self-aware it is with Jon playing Obi-Wan despite having a red lightsaber. Itâs easy to forget sometimes how great a team Stewart and Colbert are together, and this video is a great reminder of their comedic chemistry.
In reality, the video is a promotional ad meant to help spread the word about the âForce For Changeâ initiative launched back in May in partnership with Omaze. The is offering one lucky Star Wars fan (along with a friend) the chance to fly to London as a VIP guest of J.J. Abrams and be in the new film. Yes, thatâs right, you could be in Episode VII. How cool is that? Hereâs the video Abrams released back in May all about it:
