This weekend the Nerdist crew – Malik Forte and I (Update: Malik won’t be able to attend after all, so it looks like it’ll just be me. Sorry, Canada!) – won’t be making our way to the Windy City (even though the duck fat fries at Hot Doug’s are haunting my dreams); rather, we’ll be at a slightly different combination of 2 Cs and Es up in Calgary for the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo to eat our body-weight in poutine and take in the sights and sounds of one of the biggest comic cons in Canada. And did we mention that on Saturday night they’re reuniting the cast of Alien for a panel of truly epic proportions? In space no one can hear you scream, but I just got a call from the front desk at our hotel, because evidently my enthusiasm is “bothering the other guests.” Micro changes in air density, my ass…

More importantly, we’re going to moderating a metric ton of awesome panels all weekend long, so clear your calendars because you’re not going to want to miss anything.

Sons of Anarchy – 3:30 PM – Corral

Come join us to talk to the charming residents of Charming, Mark Boone Junior, Kim Coates, and Drea De Matteo about their time on the show, the absolutely insane sixth season, and what’s coming down the pipeline for our friends in SAMCRO.

Spotlight on Alfonso Ribeiro – 3:30 PM – Expo Pavilion

It’s not unusual that you’d want to spend an hour catching up with actor/director/dance sensation Alfonso Ribeiro. We’ll be sitting down the man, the myth, the Carlton to talk about his time on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, his television directing career, and much more.

Well, it looks like the dead are walking after all, because this Sunday, we’ll be sitting down with Laurie Holden (“Andrea”) and Michael Rooker (“Merle”) to talk about the impending zombie apocalypse, their time on the show, and some of the best behind-the-scenes stories from our favorite brain-hungry TV show.
